Default 2 bottom end rebuilds & New headgaskets !!!!!

Hi all just wondered if this is normal. Here we go, I had a bottom end rebuild on a 53plate wrx 225 bhp (no mods) Because the bottom end bearings went that was the 1st one.
The second 2nd one the bottom end went less than 1000mls on the new botton end build so I sent it back.
The 3rd one white smoke coming out of the exhaust from the time the engine was started so I sent it back. Turned out to be headgasket failure !!
4th one still smoking from exhaust with white smoke ?

Before the work was done I had no problem with smoke at all. What is going on ?

Any knowledge would be helpfull thanks

The 1st and 2nd rebuild could just have been down to the starting procedure the 1st time it was started( back to the oil change can or works)
And you have sort of answered your question with the white smoke as you already know its water,
Has the place supplied and fitted these engines?

It is an STI bottom end and donor parts from my engine. My friend who worked for subaru helped take out and fit engine.

did you have your heads skimmed, as if head gaskets went first time they could be slightly untrue. then any other times they are used the problem would return.

theres lots of reasons for the failed rebuilds:

did you check/change the oil pump?
was the crank replaced or re ground?
were new gaskets used every time?

Is important to use a new modine if the bottom end went. If not the swalf will just go round the new block distroying it again.

Only guessing my friend but its an important thing to do as it collects swalf from a bottom end going .

As above the modine is more than likely the bottom end failure problem, but how well was the rest of the engine cleaned before assembly? There are so many galleries in a subaru engine that need cleaning.
The modine is an oil cooler, but its internal design is such that it cannot be successfully cleaned, with any means .
The white smoke sounds like burnt oil either from: leaking past the piston rings into the combustion chamber or the turbo seals are shot.

Does the smoke smell like burnt oil or is it steam?

The cam belt was not tensioned?

Might help if you mentioned where on the planet you are Ian. Also, who is responsible for "building" these failed engines?
