Default rad,slight steam release

On the drivers side at the top on my 98 uk turbo there is steam coming from somewhere.its only a small amount but it the start of something.a helpful bloke in an sti saw me and pulled over to see if ok.really chuffed bout that, how many ford drivers would pull over to help each other.he thought it might be the plastic mould on it.if so looks like a new rad? My qustion is how big of a job is replacement?its got air con which makes a tight space even tighter.thanks

Sounds like the common plastic tube fault, yes its a new rad unfortunatly, try not to run your car as if you lose more water you could fry your head gaskets which is an 800 quid job.
As for getting it out, you will have to remove both the ac rad and your normal rad, garage would be better due to the lovely gas in the ac system (its a BIG fine if you let it into the atmosphere), but they could probably do it alot quicker than you too

a few garages up here in scotland do the head for 400 including parts ? thats a bit deer ??? this happened to me last winter mate it can be caused by having not enough anti frezze and basically when the ice expands it hairline cracks the plastic on driver side , dull one , but as above new rad , be sure that ur water pumps ok also mate ?
