hi,im worried about my 2001 uk300,not been used in the last 12 months just warmed up every other week,when running theres a sound of running water like its going up & down the exhaust & today i drove it up the road & braked & there,s defenatly water sloshing about somewhere. but with 22k & allways garaged its not had a hard life so has anyone got any idea,s on what it could be!!!!HELP!!

 

It is more than likely a build up of water due to condensation, from the atmosphere and running the engine. If whilst out driving you sometimes see water coming out of the car exhausts it is usually from cars that are only used for short runs. The main problem is that the exhaust will rust from the inside out.

 

is this noise being heard from inside the car or when you are stood outside.

 

hi there i hear it inside the car,i parked it on a bit of a slope & there was a small puddle of water on the floor & could see some in the tail pipe,guna take it for a service nxt week & hope they dont rip me off!!!..

 

its quite normal to get water coming out of the exhaust when its been stood,thats only condensation which should clear after a good run.the reason i asked if you could hear it inside is that it is common to hear a running water sound in imprezas,its the water going through the heater matrix.just to be safe keep an eye on the water level in the header tank just incase.

 

The water is low check the reservoir, top it up and the sound will go away.
