Got a 2005 STI 331BHP. Just had a brand new VF35, and STI TMIC. Got loads of mods including full de cat of up and down pipe! Blitz nur spec r, Defi gauges, PFF7 with toyo T1R'S. Ecutek remap! Just wondered what extra i should pay to get a WR1?

Why would you want to swap yours for a WR1 ?? surely there isn't much in the two cars.

Totally agree. The 2005STi with the right attention can be every bit as quick and certainly a lot quicker that a WR1 and handle every bit as well, again if not better. The WR1 is a lovely car but i wouldn't swap a 2005STi for it because performance wise there simply isn't enough in it. The difference in price is enough to pay for some very tasty further mods!!

However, if you were swapping for a Spec C then fair enough as that's a different kettle of fish altogether and more like it.

and why decat up-pipe - it didnt have a cat there either ?

Stick with what you have got - the only difference is the WR1 colour and the fact the WR1 has less power ...

Moreover, the only two WR1s I saw (when I was considering one over my 2005 STI) had the standard dark grey cloth interior rather than the recaro seats and trim of the STI and since I would spend most of the time seeing the car from the inside... Also the WR1s were ~4k more expensive. The only notable difference which I liked about the WR1 is that it's slightly lower at the front than the STI. Wouldn't have noticed though, except that they were parked next to each other.
