IIRC it's just behind the front bumper - Clipped to the metal support bar, between the bonnet catch and the lower crossmember. - You should be able to see it through the large aperture in the front bumper

The system uses an algorithm to determine if the temperature its reading is right, as it gets heat soak from the rad, so if you had a 'funny' drive cycle it could be due to that.
You could have bent it round until its touching the rad, in which case it will definately read wrong!

ok guys i cant find what is up with it, there is no chance it has moved its fixed tight!
could the sensor have gone?
i just dont get why it has gone faulty straight after fitting the downpipe..
could i have done something when moving the lambda over the gearbox? as i saw some other wires there

must just be a coincidence
i dont know how much a new part is
what is the fault then? do i need a new sensor? i..e the one that is outside near the plate or is the fault elsewhere?

well,it depends on how much the sensor is thats near the plate,if its like £20 id start there, but if its like £60 then you need to diagnose 110% etc
but i cant see there being too much to replace parts wise either the sensor or the reader/display if its a built in decoder blah blah etc
