I OWN A EARLY 1994 SERIES 2 (CG8B) WRX IMPORT..
IM AFTER A REPLACEMENT TD04 TURBO, SO WAT YEAR TURBOS WILL FIT MY SCOOBY?

E.G- WILL 1998 WRX TDO4 FIT?

A IM AWARE THE SERIES 3 (GC8C CAME OUT LATE 1994)
DOES SERIES 3 TURBO FIT SERIES 2..

yes it fits but needs altering pipework as the s1 type is 90 degree entry the s2 is front entry

Turbos from Cars 96 and before will fit direct, you want a TD04 with a 90deg inlet as apposed to the later front inlet.

ah right ok ive checked online too see wat the car is and its a series 2 (early 1994)..which means TD04?
it states the series 3 came out in late 1994.. did the did the series 3 wrx use TD04 until a certain date and change too TD05 ? As i had a post saying that i can fit turbos of wrx import up too 1996? which would mean im using series 3 turbo..

Thanks for help i just want too get replacement (the turbo model nuber has been worn off so cant work out wat model by looking at it).

your car is a v1, v1/2 impreza saloons all had tdo5 turbos fitted from the factory irrespective of weather they are import or uk models.

92-94 is v1 95-96 is v2 you can normally distinguish the two as the v1has red seat panels and the v2 has the grey panels on the seats, mechanically they are both the same.

the turbo i showed on ebay is 1997??



and u mentioned that series 1 and 2 which range from 92-96....



but that td05 is 1997 on ebay..? so wat do u think ? is that one on ebay 90 degree entry?

Phase 1 engines are 92-96, phase 1.5 engines are 97-98 and phase 2 engines are 99-00

the turbo you have shown on ebay is the correct fitment to your car with the up swept intake pipe, the seller however has listed the turbo, incorrectly
