Default Possible CV Joint? Or just (hopefully) a cracked disc...

Had a thumping noise from the passengers side wheel recently. Almost a clicking sound, but sort of a thump too. Seemed to be intermittent, but when it did happen I was able to stop it by slightly depressing the brake pedal.

Thought it was time to get new pads, so bought new pads all round and the mech who was fitting it said it was still making a clicking sound ocne fitted, and on closer inspection I had a cracked disc. I'm hoping this is the problem, but he did mention that one of the things that ran through his mind was that it could be the CV joint.

Ordered new discs today (Tarox discs) which I am awaiting delivery but took her for a quick spin today (don't want to ruin the new pads with cracked discs but wanted to see what it was like) but the noise is now more of a clicking sound. Still intermittent and at lower speeds, but doest seem to be more of a clicking sound now, but thumps more when you have to brake.

All points towards the discs, but wondered if anyone else had any theories - or if this could be the CV joint by my description?

Any input welcome!!

Cheers

H

Thanks, that's what I thought - does click a bit when turning the wheel slightly at times - pretty sure its the disc. Those discs were only new early last year!!? Bought from Aztec Performance here on the forum, run with EBC red's.
