Default Knock Sensor Location

Hello there,

I've been searching through old posts for this, but still can't find it.

I have a MY99 UK Turbo 2000 and for the last week or so, i've been getting the 'check engine' light flash on occassionally for a few minutes or seconds at a time. So I did the diagnostic on it, and it flashed up with error code 22 (knock sensor). So I figured that i'd better replace the sensor.

The furthest i've got trying to find its location is in a post which says its down the right-hand side of the intercooler and is quite fiddly to reach. I have looked here, and can't work out which part it is. I've also had someone look on an autodata cd, and this doesn't have an under-bonnet diagram with any sensor locations either! which is useful.

I'd be very grateful if anyone could get me a picture of the location/what the sensor looks like.

cheers

How hard did you look? I just clicked on Search, used the word "knock" as a string, and found this from all of a couple of days ago:

I saw that, but assumed that as the person asking had a 96 impreza, that the engine bay was laid out differently to mine, so was irrelevant?

sorry if this isn't the case.
