I have a lockset off a 99 UK car. This includes the ignition barrel, both door locks, 2 x keys and transponder unit. Someone has enquired wether it will fit a 94 JDM car.

Can anyone clarify if they are interchangeable?

All the locks except the Ign Barrel will fit - The steering lock locator changed shape at Version4 IIRC.

The early car wouldn't need the transponder either.

 

yes and no, there is a slight difference on the recess where the ignition lock plunger fits when it bolted to the steering column, i got round this on mine by filing the ignition barrell to fit (from square to oval or vice versa cant remember) you wont need the transponder unit for for the 94jdm as the keys were not chipped, hope this helps.
