Engine undertray

Engine undertray
I'm thinking to put an engine undertray ... What do u think, is it worth it? I know it keeps the engine bay cleaner , but as will hold the heat as well?? or not?? Your opinions...what is it for....

Afraid you won't get a definitive answer to this. People swear taking it off reduces oil temps which I understand, but I think theres more to it. I'm in the school of thought that it is key to engine bay air flow and that removing it creates stagnant conditions where air should be moving. IMHO the car feels better with it on.
I'm on a TMIC so might be more susceptible?

This is the the question. It makes me wonder if subaru peeps put it , as i understand it is there for a reason, or not? Looking at race cars their all have the kind of things underneath etc.,i know the things are called diffusers, but most cars have engine undertrays anyway... i think it is something to do with the air flow even if it is better engine temperature weis.

i took mine off a few months ago. for me, airflow, streamline etc.... dont really mean anything as im always drifting around watford at a steady 30mph. . for me, it certainly dropped oil temps. 10c. and it just makes it that bit easier for the 6 monthly oil change.
