Default Can fuel make this much difference

newish owner of an sti wrx with PPP

and noticed that on a boot full, between 65ish and remaider revs before change gear the car felt like it did not rev as clean through

not quite a missfire but perhaps a little hesitation followed by a slight surge.

was running some bp ultimate in tank at time

recent fill with shell V power and seems a lot better, almost unoticeable.

was quite worried to begin with and feared a money trail of plugs/leads and other sensors.

could the fuel make this much of a difference, even though it's still early days since refill.

wonder if anyone else out there has come acorss this and could advise me if a problem is around the corner or not

many thanks to those that can help

I don't think it's fuel. Try air. Filter?. Maybe a rip in a air hose. Something like that.

You know what its like, ask one question and get 10 different answers, but i was warned against putting B.P. in the tank, possible valve damadge

has BP not admitted to some water in an shipment of fuel recently? they say they will fork out for new engines if it is found to be their fault.

I live near a busy BP garage, and mine runs pants on it....

I drive two miles from work to get V-Power.

P.S. I doubt you'd manage to blame water for your symptoms.

BP Ultimate has a poor reputation on here.
It could well have been the ECU pulling ign. timing and boost as it detected det.
