Best turbo for 0-60
Right finally decided on what I want from the car now.
I want a turbo that'll get me 0-60 the quickest.
My aim has been 330, but to be honest if i can get the 0-60 right down.
My car will only be for road, maybe some track.
So question is what turbo?
I have changed my mine from the td0518g to 16g and now i'm looking at the td04 hybrid.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

ITs a tough one, I do have the VF35 on mine at mo, but its fudged, so think i will be going for a td instead, at least they are rebuildable.
Must admit though, although my VF35 is fudged when it comes in it comes in with some force.

a mint vf35 can be had alot cheaper and they are a good reliable turbo, mines a genuine 37k vf35 and its excellent with plenty more to come from it,im running 300bhp with very little mods at moment.i paid £280 on here so its a great option if on a very limited budget like i always am

From fastest spooling;-
1) TD04 Hybrid
2) TD04L
3) VF35 (deliberately ignoring the more aged, fragile VF20-series and hard to come by VF30)
At least with the VF35, you have scope for upto 340-350... AS WELL!
Running it DVless with a bunged recirc port on the tutbo intake pipe, will also keep the inlet tract primed with the air charge for even quicker throttle response! Don't worry, the VF30-series are okay to run DVless (younger/less mileage, so less fragile than VF22-29 ones)

Then your limiting factor will be grip or gear ratios, can you hit 60 in 2nd gear? changing to 3rd loses lots of time.

I can hit 60 in second, so thats all good. Mine is a uk so longer gearing. Isn't it all about torque to get you to 60 quicker? I just want a really quick road car. I'm keeping standard ecu so can't get launch control.

Everyone seems to be missing the point here, Andy Forrest carried out the fastest 0-60 I have ever heard of from a Subaru with a huge GT42R based hybrid. If you want a fast 0-60 you need power at the top end of the rev range, not torque at the bottom.
A VF34/35 or 18g equipped car will be faster over the 0-60 as it has a better spread of power further up the revs.
The TD04 hybrid (Which I love on a daily driver) is better at 50-70 in 5th for instance, better low down response making it better in gear than through the gears.

Getting a fantastic 0-60 is more about a perfect launch than which turbo. Your transmission and clutch won't forgive you for long if you repeatedly try violent launches.

I have done a 0-60 of 5.3 with just 240bhp using a G metre on the TD04, doing 2 launchers in each direction and it's done STINKS

yea it is,the vf35 uses divided thrust bearing but im lead to believe there isnt a great difference between the 2.the vf34 is quite rare to buy secondhand and will still cost alot, where as the 35 can be had at a good price as mentioned above,if my funds were not as restricted i would have probably opted for the 34.

With your 18G you need to spend a lot of time getting your setup right to make the best use of the power available.
If you are serious about this you can also start lightening the car, junk the spare wheel jack, only one tow eye front and back, throw away the prop catch plate and various other bits of junk that only add weight. If you get really serious look at the weight of your wheels and check out what is available at much lower weight.

deff not at the wheels then, so slim how much do you and your car weigh. Only doing calculated figures so this is based on 1300kg of lard and 330 bhp will give you a 0-60 of low 4's. Soz dude had to get the slim jokes in as you ask nice for them. I'm just under 15 stone mi sen but no fatboy here.
joz got it.

Only count that as a ballpark guide, as obviously gear ratios/FD, turbo delivery, tyre compound, traction/grip, etc aren't accounted for.
