Wink To many questions.........

Hi all ,before i start asking questions i would like to say sorry if i have done this wrong ,its the first i have used a forum and i have only had my 97 scooby for about a week.

anyway to the questions...... When going round a r hand bend i get a grating sound coming from the left rear(but when it rained the other day it stopped)(also the had sat unused in a garage for about 3 months) any ideas?

number 2 ....i have abit of play in the steering, not much, i checked the tyre pressures( 34psi front 32rear on 205 - 50 -r16,iwas told) and jacked up the front and gave everything and good shake and everything seems tight and solid ,any ideas?

number 3....i have a 4" decatted exhaust and its due its mot soon ,I am going to put the cat back on for mot but should i take it off again ?will it make that much difference to the bhp?also with the cat on will it make it abit quieter as its bloody loud(and finishing work in the early hours i am starting to **** people off)???

hope you can answer these questions and sorry once again if i have done this wrong

Welcome

Ok, number 1 im having a guess at, is the car lowered?? if so then your rear tyre is rubbing on the arch.

2. if you have play in the steering it could well be the rack thats naffed, it wont pass the mot, does the steering wheel move when stationary and the wheels dont? (try it with the engine off)

3. The decat could be an issue but so could the noise levels of the exhaust, it all depends on where you take your car and if the tester thinks its too loud etc, plus the bhp will drop, probably not that much anyway but shove some redex in there to help the emissions and use super unleaded.
