Default pistonslap ?

could someone tell me what age of scoobies suffer from pistonslap . looking to buy a 01 bugeye wagon tommorow with 95000 on the clock , is there an issue on bugeyes or is it only on clasics. Cheers

it was mostley the 97/98 cars. but all years suffer from it. my 93 wrx has it and ive heard of plenty new age ones with it too.

you should only notice it when engine's cold ,they tighten up as it gets hot

All years to a varying degree, reduces as the engines upto temp.

As above, all years to some extent but MY97/98 in particular.

Especially bad in the cold weather. You should hear my UK MY97 at 5am in the frosty weather, sounds like a bag of spanners for about 5 miles.

yeah mine 97 wrx was like that for a few years it never was a problem then i forged it all, only because i done my head gasket
