Question Fitting an exhaust without ramps or a pit?

Hi,

Ok, so once you've stopped laughing at the title the big question is, is it possible? Can I change the exhaust on a bugeye, from the CAT back by just jacking it up and sticking it on axle stands? Are their any gotchas or things to be aware of?

TIA

Ian

It can be easily done. I've just changed my complete system to a decat downpipe and Blitz Nurspec R. Just try and get it as high as possible on the axle stands, all the bolts are easily accessable.

Stupid question no.2, how did you jack it up? It's been suggested to put a trolley jack under the rear diff casing, but I'm not sure if that'll be ok.

put a trolly jack under the jack up point in each corner (the points you use when changing the tyre) jack up each corner in turn and put a axle stand underneith prefably under a strong suspension part. repeat steps if you want to go higher.

Pfft.

In the past I've done it by driving up a high kerb. Jacks and axle stands are for wimps But now that I have them its easy
