Default Turbo Help!!!!!!

I have been stripping a uk 2000 AWD & when taking the turbo off saw that its an IHI VF35. Have looked into it & read up that its good turbo for low end acceleration??? Is this correct?????

Also what Turbo is on a V3 Type R??? TD04 is it????

If so, which is beta, V3 Type R one or the IHI VF35????

Any help would be much appreciated! Thanx!

VF35 is a cracking wee turbo, on my 05 sti I was seeing 370 bhp and 360 lbf-ft torque with 1.55 bar of boost by 2700 rpm with 10% methanol and other supporting mods

on the older classic you would probably see about 340 ish bhp

I had the wastegate ported due to boost creep issues on a previous map
GT spec 2 headers and up pipe
Perrin intake elbow
Bosch 255 fuel pump
APS inner wing induction kit
NGK PFR7B plugs
Meercat custom "snakehead" downpipe and full 3 inch decat system
Andy Forrest remap to 1.55bar with 10% methanol mix
and the newage cars also have AVCS heads which help in spool up and torque and are good for decent power figures
I was still running standard top mount as well as injectors (and turbo obviously)

the 05 STI unit seems to be able to out perform its predisesors by about 20bhp for some reason.
