Hi

Plenty been said already. But on here people will say to leave the one that comes as standard on the car. After markets will increase the risk of engine damage due to changes of the amounts of air entering the engine, risk of overfueling ect.

If you still want one then usually people say to stay away from the Baily dv's. Im not sure on other makes maybe someone else will ist a few.

The best way to demonstrate your love for it would be spending the money on something else. The dumpvalve that was fitted to your car in the factory is the best one available. Aftermarket alternatives will just make the engine function less optimally.

My choice would be either a hks sqv or turbosmart supersonic nice sound from them but they dont give any performance gains only the noise as far as i know. I got my type r mapped by Andy F and i had the oem re-circ one fitted, i asked him was it okay to fit a bov after the map he told me it doesnt affect the map at all

i have a bailey dump valve on my 05 plate wrx and have suffered no problems at all. Performance and fuel consumption still good. But everyone say's stay clear of them and keep original so dono what to do myself!

Think its down to the quality of them

Theres a "possibility" of affected performance and damage. The main point is that they aren't needed, the only perk is the TTssshhh they make.

Some like it some dont, i quite like it but got bored of it. They arent a performance modification and wont make your car run better or healthier, so whats the point of buying one? If you like the sound get another one, if you dont like it go back to the re-circ.

Yeah end of the day its your car, do what you want to it.

With a recirc you will still hear the air dumping while driving, but people outside wont hear it

Here a vid of a classic RA, it says he's running the standard re-circ valve in the comments.

YouTube - Subaru Impreza type RA

Sounds ace to me

But have a use on a modified car, if you can run up to 2 bar of boost , then the additional capacity is of use....
