Many moons ago I was a mechanic at Fiat. This was a 17mm special tool they provided to access head bolts beneath the camshaft. It is the original crowsfoot socket. I believe the flat ones evolved from this but they require more space around the bolt/nut. So basically it is an extended socket with a 1/2" drive.

Make one, cut the ring end off a spanner and weld it on at 90 degrees. Job done. Weld it at an angle so you can use a double spanner for extra leverage.. or just weld the 14mm ring on to a half inch extension bar that you can fix a ratchet on to.

If you are doing the downpipe to turbo nuts then I got a set of stubby spanners from Halfordsthat included a 14mm spanner which was perfect. Don't know if they do them individually, but worth a look.

As already mentioned, a crows foot should do the job. Or one of these

Thanks for all your input.
I'll try that wrench set from Machine Mart as it looks like the closest option.

The advantage of the pictured item is that it requires minimal space around the bolt head and, with the top being directly above the bolt head, it allows for accurate torqueing up. Maybe when I have time I'll have a go at fabricating one out of a ring spanner and socket wobble bar.

Thanks again
