Stroker, is it worth it?? benefits??
Hi all,
New to the subaru seen having just bought a shell, want to start getting bits for the rest of the car together now.
Having read the enginetuner article in total impreza a 2.1ltr sounds a good engine, more torque, faster spooling turbo, anymore benefits??
Is it worth stroking the 2.0ltr or just buying a 2.2ltr??
I know the 2.5 crank is used, are the standard rods and pistons used or would the comp ratio be wrong??
Any info advise be appriciated, my knowledge is poor on these engine
I intend building the engine up using a closed deck block & forged internals, for around 400-450bhp

I think Alans article will have covered most of the benefits, another possible plus is £ for £ the stroker is not to different to a forged 2.0 in price but has many benefits. As above contact Alan and he will I'm sure be most helpful, to answer your quick question the STD rods and pistons are not used.
