Andy Forrest Hybrid tdo4 vs vf34/5
Evening chaps,
I've started to go down the slippery road of tuning up my 2002 bug wrx.
I currently have.....
Ninja sports cat down pipe
Afterburner decat front pipe
Baffled mid pipe
Ninja2 back box
Green airfilter (pannel type)
ECUTEC remap (JGM)
I'm in the process of aquiring some sti injectors (pink top feed ones)
And i'm aware i'll need a good up-pipe and better fuel pump (walbro)
As the car is predominently a town car, i want to keep lag to a minimum. So after hours and hours of searching on SN iv'e come to the conclusion that i'll need either an AFtd04 or a VF34/5 turbo.
I just don't want to push my internals too far as they are standard, and so is the clutch. Just wondered what everyone thinks and views of people that have fitted the andy forrest td04, or the vf 34/5 series turbos.
Many thanks in advance
Matt.

all will be ok power wise ont he standard engine (in 99% of cases, theres always an oddball)
VF34 will give most power, vf35 will have similar spool to 34 but not have the top end, td04 will sppol like a scalded rat but wont have the top end grunt

scalded rat Cheers Tidgy, think i'm going to go with the andy forrest one, as i never really take the car on massive accelleration or full on thrashes. Generally just give it a good squirt of the throttle and back off once it scres me.

if you opt for the andy forrest AF04,it will give you the quick spool up you desire, but unlike the bog standard tdo4 it wont run out of puff after 5000 rpm and is good for 310 bhp with supporting mods.
