Default Funny rattling noise between 2krpm and 3krpm on 02 bug sti?

hi

another thing ive noticed that ive learned to live with but want to get it sorted lol, been about 3 weeks and when u drive slow, off turbo.. between 2 and 3k rpm u get like a whistle / rattle (sort of metal on metal sound..

if driving hard u cant hear it, and you cant hear it when on turbo.

a friend was in the back of the car and said you can hear it more from the back so i assume its coming fromt he back somewhere as he can hear it in neutral aswell when revving it whereas we cant in the front lol.

any ideas on where to look?

cheers

i'll have to have a look, it's 3.5 inch, maybe hitting the rear diff as it was really close.. or it might be that ive blown some of the backbox out with all the pops and bangs .. i'll have a look next weekend, just wanting pointers on where to start.

if its the exhaust hitting the diff or the anti roll bar as from what i can remember , thats all it can really hit.. how would i stop it from hitting them?

ok found the noise to be a leak in the gasket between downpipe and center section. so it would whistle, got it tightened and sealed and the noise is now gone
