Mine's ecu Chip Location
hi guys i am sure i have a mines chip fitted to my classic as it has the gold certificate and MINE'S security tape on the ecu, but i cant seem to see a chip in my ecu.

My only observation would be that a Mines ECU is not suited to UK fuel, as it has very aggressive timing even on 100/102 RON fuel.
And, I would think it really ought to have an EPROM fitted, so maybe someones done a swap of the circuit board at some time?

i cant remeber if mines found a way of reflashing the ecus or if they fitted a chip like everyone does. your ecu in the picture does not have the chip, so its either a different ecu with a mines case or mines flashed it without a chip. does the map feel very agressive?
by the way that board has a 000D17 code on the yellow connector which suggests it is a z4 ecu like the case says, which is the correct ecu for your car.

mine has a chip and runs perfect on v power had a power run last week. it is a mines z4 ecu same as yours but your chip is missing. I have a chip brand new never fitted that is mapped to run 97 ron fuel and boost is raised too 1.15 bar around 280 to 290 bhp. Bought it for mine but found out that mine was a mines mapped ecu with the chip fitted!
