Default Boost solenoid plumbing & manual boost controller removal

Right... There is a pipe that goes from the top of the manifold (centre port) that goes to the top of the boost solenoid, then a pipe that goes from the solenoid to a black box. and the bottom valve of the solenoid goes to the breather pipe on the induction kit.

Then there is a pipe that goes from the top of the turbo, then to the manual boost controller to the actuator. Now im thinking WTF, im sure this isnt right at all?! But then, it looks like i have two solenoids?! :S

Here's some pictures (also put comments on them)

The reddish brown valve (at the top of Pic1) is the Pressure exchange solenoid
The cylindical valve underneath (marked "WTF is this?") is the Boost solenoid....
Top port is connected to Boost Pressure Source (on the turbo compressor cover)
Middle port is connected to turbo actuator.
Bottom port is the return to the inlet pipe (connected to the side of your Apexi induction kit adaptor)

The sensor to the LHS of the Boost Solenoid is the MAP Sensor

That is your 3 point boost solenoid, which is normally connected by the top port going to the turbo outlet nipple on the compressor, the middle port connects to the wastegate, and the bottom port connecting back into the inlet tract - or can be left to vent to atmosphere.

The pipes that woud go to the BCS's top and middle ports are now plumbed to the MBC, hence why the BCS's ports are sitting in free air. Basically the BCS is now redundent as your MBC is now controlling target boost pressure.

Also, in the 2nd pic down, the "What is this" in white, is just the wiring connection from the BCS to the ECU loom (as said, now redundant).

Right so now im going to remove the manual boost controller, the pipe from the top of the turbo goes to the top port of the boost solenoid.

Then the pipe that goes to the turbo actuator goes to the lower side port on the boost solenoid

And the bottom pipe stayes where it is (going from solenoid to apexi induction breather)

And just leave the BPS and Map as it is?

Is the above right?

@Joz, the white message was actually asking what the MAP sensor was lol

Correct.

The RHS of the Pressure Exchange Solenoid should be connected to the inlet plenum chamber, and the other side of that solenoid is piped to the MAP sensor

I take it the inlet plenum chamber is the top of the inlet manifold?

Cool got it sorted now, just need some new pipe.

Cheers Lads!

Yeah the plenum is the 'immediate air filling reservoir' at the top of the inlet manifold, directly attached to the TB inlet. Then, as the inlet valves open and the piston starts its downward stroke, a proportion of that air get sucked down the corresponding inlet 'branch' of the IM...
