Default Disabling alarm with flat battery?

Nice easy question for someone, I'm sure...

I have just got a 2004 WRX, but need to charge the battery. Attaching the leads simply sets off the alarm. Does anyone know how to disable this?

Thanks in advance...

You will need to disarm the alarm.I had a similar problem and was told the only way is to get power to the car then disarm the alarm. Then the alarm shouldn't go off.
