Head gaskets advice
Hi guys, I couldn't find an introduction section so I'll just jump straight in.
A bit of background first, I don't currently own a Subaru (well at least not a whole one anyway), I have the oily bits from a 1999 (T) Subaru Legacy Outback (EJ25 sohc).
I am planning on fitting this into a 1972 VW Beetle. (**ducks**)
Anyway, I removed the engine from the car knowing that the head gasket/s had gone and I am capable of rebuilding the engine myself. I just need a little guidance as to the best gaskets to buy.
I have been to my local branch of 'Euro car parts' and they can supply the appropriate gaskets for around £100, but I have also found a full head set on ebay in the US for much cheaper, even after I pay the VAT and import duty.
Now I'm aware that cheap and Subaru are words that do not necessarily go together, so I would be grateful if any of you guys could tell me if the set is any good.
EJ25 head gasket set
Or alternatively, where should I buy them from in the UK?
Thanks
John

I assume the new gaskets should be stock thickness + skim thickness?
Also, does anyone know where I can get second hand timing belt covers? I need the full assembly as it looks like the rear sections melted when the engine overheated.I know of 'grade a' already, are there any other gooduns?
