Passenger Windows don't work.

Passenger Windows don't work.
I broke my passenger side front window switch a while back and the rear switch has been missing for a while as well.
Replaced all my door cards today with new ones that have working switches all round but both passenger side windows will not go up or down via their individual switches or by the switch on the drivers door.
Now, when you press the switches you can hear the motor trying to do something and approx every 10 seconds you can hear a clicking noise from around the drivers seat area. Sounds like a relay click.
Can anyone advise what might be causing passenger side windows to not work.
Many thanks.

thats what was thinking,i changed a door on newish golf at work this week and could not get window to work, as it turned out it was one of pins bent and stopped the plug connecting proper, have you put a voltmeter on it to see if power is there ?

The door cards and switches are from a V2 STI, mine is a MY97 T2000.
Didn't realise the wiring was different, even though the switches are still from a pre-facelift classic. Will get some new switches and see what happens.
Thanks
