Default Oil Change - General opinion

I've seen this topic covered on various forums, but need a general opinion on what's best for my particular setup.

I've got an 06 Hawkeye STI with PPP, which during the week is a work horse going 6 miles to the station and back but during the weekends I like to take her out and drive her as she's supposed to be driven. I'm also planning on doing a few track days as and when the weather improves.

So what I need to know is what engine oil would be most suitable for a modded STI pushing out around 330bhp, that's used for a variety of different driving conditions ?? At the moment it's got 5w-40 in it which I personally think is too thin, so what should I be asking the garage to put in next week,

10w-40 ?
10w-50 ?
15w-40 ?
15w-50 ?

Worth noting watever grade it is I'll be going for the Millers CFS Competion oil.

Also, is it necessary to change the oil filter when changing grade of oil. Some people have suggested it's not necessary, but my view is that a change in the grade of oil would probably benefit for an oil filter change as well ??

All thoughts appreciated,

Cheers,

Mav

Email or PM Guy at Opie Oils - he'll recommend the correct premium oil and also alternative cheaper oils too.

Or you can go on thier website and use the "Recommend me an oil" wizard...
