it all depends on what budget you have to spend.if you have plenty of cash to lay out then the list is endless.

Sensible 'saftey' additions would be:-

New Walbro 255 (if not already fitted)
New fuel filter
New heat range "7" plugs
If not yet mapped, chuck the BOV - get mapped on the OEM recirc...

Si, OP already has a VF34 - just a little bit less potential bhp than the 18g, etc.

Surely his 34 is quicker spooling than the 18g (even if only not by much)? Would it actually be worth the change?

30bhp between them imho..

yes it will spool slightly later but 30bhp is very noticable..

Yes I suppose so. More often than not 340 for 34... and 370 for 18g. Good point.

I was thinking 360 for the 34, but presumably, that's very much the exception, rather than the rule?

330~340 average.. did 347 on a dyno dynamics last week and 370 on an 18g on the same day on two different cars.. the 18g would have done more but engine was standard v1!

How much do you want to spend?
Ported headers and matched uppipe will immediately make the car crisper, more responsive and better breathing top end with more torque right across the rev range.
I assume you have it mapped.
After that it is a turbo upgrade. 18G would be good as indicated above and have you fitted a fuel pump? If not you should do so.
You save on the cost of another remap if you do it all in one go.
