1: Return the dumpvalve to seller
2: Obtain refund
3: Spend it on something that will benefit your car.

What Splitpin has said, you may not want to hear..... But it IS the best course of action if you want to optimise the smooth running of the engine.

An OEM DV'd engine is a happy engine.

if it came with no instructions on how to set up?...... dodgy. I had a Turbosmart Supersonic that was easy to fit and easy to set up.... cost me £200 notes but it came with full instructions. Basically set it to softest setting, rev engine, let it go back to idle, if it drops below idle or stalls then keep turning to harder setting gradually and keep trying until engine goes back to normal idle. Not sure about yours, it may have fixed settings (not ideal). That's the basics without complicating it, but you really should have instructions on that particular BOV.
PS. my turbosmart is for sale on ebay starting at £70. I have taken it off after 3 months as my WRX PPP ecu doesn't like it.... shame. Gonna spend some money on handling instead...

actually i just looked at that BOV on ebay and yes it looks decent enough.. .cheap, but decent. However, have you checked gasket, feedback pipe is well blocked off etc.... so that you are not getting any leak?
There is a lot of noise on here about BOV's - and mostly it is well founded. Unless you get mapped with it fitted, you may never get the same performance you had without it (although earlier cars ecu's tend to react better for some reason)... just a warning. Good luck, Laterz, Chris.

Thanks all
I hear what you are saying (Subaru have spent 1000s developing that system so it almost perfect as is)
I did think that all along but got to try these things and my Scooby needs to pay it's way as promo tool!!!!
