Default my indicators are not working?

hello all, for some strange reason my indicators have stopped working all of a sudden, hazards work, and when i lock the car they flash to show the alarm has armed, but when i go to indicate they dont work, head lights are fine and flash works too. its a 1997 pre face lift

Could be the flasher relay.

If it's the same as mine, a 98 UK car, it's mounted high up behind the dash, driver's side.
It's a PITA to get at, or see, in fact when I removed mine, I found it by setting it going and feeling which relay was ticking. Not going to help you though. IIRC mine was green.

Is the stalk wired to the slip ring(bit that spins with the steering wheel) or the loom in the column mate??

before you spend your money do one last check.
My bug has an intermittant failure of the indicators, hazards work as do the alarm blinks but when i was under the dash getting to the relay i noticed the relay only worked when i wiggled the wires to it.
it seems i have a dry connection or faulty terminal.for the time being i have taped the loom to the relay up a bit higher and have had no problems since.
