Default Alarm / battery problem

I wonder if anyone can help me with a bit of a problem. Went to take the car out the other day, pressed the key button to open the car.. alarm goes off... it wouldn't stop tried all usual measures for stopping the alarm.. pin number pressing the key button ect.. to no avail. Eventually it stopped and it appeared that the battery ran down. So I got the car jump started let it tick over and then took it out for a run.. no problem.... went away for the weekend and apparently it went off again, and without looking at it I think the same thing has happened again.

other symptoms/info: The car was washed previously the day before.. possible water ingress although unlikely I don't use that high a pressure pressure washer.

Side lights appear to have blown changed them back after the original alarming event.

Car was running fine other wise

no electrical modifications bar different side lights, which have now been changed back to standard.
