remote locking - 98 impreza turbo
iv always had remote locking and i miss it since buying my 98 turbo.
iv looked at various remote locking alarms and im wondering if theyl work.
has anyone got them fitted to any MY98 or similar?
only the drivers door operates the central locking and im not sure if the drivers door has a motor as it makes no noise. does anyone know if it does have a cl motor?
thanks

I fitted a 3 circuit alarm/immobiliser using the central locking output to drive the slave motor. Fitting an alarm system is quite a task, so probably best to get your fitment center to do it.

thanks 0ctane, but i have fitted a remote c/l alarm to my prior BMW, although that had a motor on every door and posed no problems when fitting my META systems alarm.
iv been looking at a Clifford 'Viper' alarm on ebay, that covers central locking, but if my scoob has no motor in the drivers door then im flummoxed.
does anyone know where i can get a suitable lock or solenoid or whatever i need online? and give me some idea how difficult it will be to install, before i start to mess with the alarm itself. thx

is your wagon a grey or a UK car? mine is a UK, so apart from that i cant see there being too much difference in whether there is a door lock fitted between the models in the 98 range, so perhaps mine does have one in there.
at £70, i guess i can afford to buy the alarm and then worry about the door motor later... maybe
