It wont be a version anything so that clears that up
If its on a Y then its a 2001 model which makes it a JDM import, the rear wiper will give it away anyway

yeah lol JDM are miles better than uk, im pretty sure the standard car is as quick as my 330bhp bug in standard form.. also it has the bonus of doing what the classics do when you change gears you can feel the diff hit you in the back, my uk sti doesnt do that

all classic imports do it and it seems the newage imports do it..i thought it was just because the newage was refined. but obv not, lol well impressed with the standard JDM imports

the owner says he imported it as a blobeye from japan, been in his family since 2007 when first imported.

so as far as he knows its a blobeye

so it must have been converted in japan then

no worries

Subaru GD/GG impreza WRX STi/WRX/wagon model code information : J's Garage Export - importing jdm cars and parts from Japan -

So GDBA4EH makes it 2000-2001

Bug eye sport MY02 GDBB4DD
Bug eye WRX wagon MY02 GGBB5DD
Bug eye WRX MY02 GDAB4DD
bug eye WRX Sti MY02 GDBB4EH
Bug eye Spec C MY02 GDBB4FH
Bug eye Spec C MY02 Limited GDBB4FH
Bug eye WRX Sti RA MY02 GDBB4DH

it has jap Car as it has Model number and not VIN number

It is a converted BUGEYE

Although i do believe there were a few "Offical experimental" modded bug eyes to Blobeyes but WRX Sti MY02 GDBB4EH IIRC

The Blob eye WRX Sti MY03 GDBC4EH has DCCD IIRC

what would you pay for a bugeye sti import with the front and rear conversion and interior conversion tbh as it has the auto ic spray and version 8 steering wheel etc.??

26k km on the clock

still in km for some rreason

no diff control

No problem

"IF" it had been the next year GDBB4FH, no so easy to be so sure

IIRC there were a few "Genuine" Subaru prototyes bugeye to Blobeye floating about.

but if the price is right and done proffesionally it's only cosmetically inhanced

cheers guys

bought the car dirtt cheap!!! ill accept it as a bugeye with the conversion although, its definately been done properly.. in that the rear end and interior has been done too along with skirts..

the only pic i took

just 2 questions now really!

1) the jdm sti is much more drivale standard! spools under 2k! again more refined, not as aggressive as mine, but on the short blast, they was nothing in them.. i.e. between the standard jdm and my remapped uk sti. anyways down to the point!

dont know how to word this but on gear changes you feel the diff hit you in the back if you get me.. all classic imports do it.. its like 'tak' on gear changes..

my newage doesnt do it.. is it just the imports? and if so why? and how come, makes the car feel more raw lol..

2) can someone confirm the classic exhaust go straight on the jdm cars? have a spare nur spec r that i want to put on.. the headache i had with putting a classic one on my car was not worth it lol so dont wanna do choppin and making new brackets.

actually one more question

3) what do the jdm cars pump out in standard form, power wise? coz this one is defo bloody quick.. and better point to point car, turbo kicks in like a diesel

cheers

p.s. im with TonyBurns from now on, i never thought they was such a difference but now.. -- JDM ALL THE WAY!!

too right.. you;ve got to drive them to notice how different they are..

another thing my steering is well heavy in the bugeye .. and in the jdm one its super light.. not sure why.. both have the same wheels with the same size tyres..

anyway getting a private plate put on to hide the age..heres better daylight er pics
