It's neither Joz. Error 44 relates to the boost control solenoid - hence the Subarish description being pressure control signal (rather than pressure sources change...)
Yz: Is your check engine light actually on as you drive or did you simply do a precautionary check with the read memory plugs under the dashboard to see what was stored?
If the latter, and if the CEL isn't actually on at the moment, that error's a historic one that has occurred in the past. It could have been caused by an intermittent fault in the solenoid or its cabling, or simply by someone starting the car with the solenoid disconnected.
If you haven't actually seen the CEL while the engine's been running during the past year, it is almost certainly something innocuous and thus probably isn't worth worrying about. If you have seen the light come on, though, it'd be worth running through some simple diagnostics to try and isolate the cause before modding.

Hey guys thanks for the reply, No the CEL wasnt on, i just decided to check for any errors. You've saved me from few hours lost sleep, lol. i'll reset the ecu and see if it'll go away.
Also i wouldnt mind asking you's if you's know how much power i can get from my93 wrx without risking blowning the engine and gearbox to bits?
Cheers

Nothing's guaranteed re breaking things.
But if you max your TD05H 16g turbo (assuming a saloon?) you should see 330-350bhp and similar torque, which is pretty much where you want to be, to keep either intact. As said though, nothing's certain.
You'd need a New Age STi TMIC or a aftermarket FMIC, 440 or 550 injectors (440s without an adj. FPR could be marginal), uprated MAP sensor, and the whole lot remapped on an aftermarket mappable ECU.
