440s should do around 320 on their own, but will not leave much headroom, I think.
If I were you... then I'd add an adj FPR (Fuelab) for sure. Mapper will be able to control them better plus add a bit of extra ign adv and/or boost as he'll be able to up the pressure (thus the fuelling) from the stock 3 to 3.5+ bar, too...
Check your plugs' conditon while you're at it.

so will the gains be worthy of spending £££ on the fpr? what power gains will it give me?eg. if i get it mapped to 320/320 on oe fpr, would i for example only gain another say 5bhp or so from the fuelab? if thats the case then surely to spend £££ and fitting wouldnt be worthwhile? or have i got this all wrong?

It's more about safety really - you wouldn't want a melted piston for the sake of running the 440s near max IDC when on WOT/load, etc.!
I don't know what, say, 440s running at 3.5bar would add, bhp wise. It'll be a combo of the extra fuelling, ign. adv and boost that the mapper is able to dial in, that will determine it. How long's a bit of string?

That said, I expect it'll be around an extra 10+bhp. So no, the cost per bhp isn't worth it - esp. when you'd be 'starting' off from c.300bhp anyway.
Thats why, personally, I'd swap the 440s for 550s... then that way you'd DEFO realise the VF35's full potential for making its max bhp, for sure. Plus you won't have to worry about marginal fuelling when 'on it' (unaided 550s can flow enough for 400-420bhp).

Doing the FPR will give a margin of safety with the 440's and will be ready for further mods. Unfortunatly the same can be said for going upto 550's. Speak to who ever you are going to get to do the mapping for advise. Personally I would go for the injectors as there is more play for the mapper to get things set right.
