Default lag after fitting larger tmic

as per title car info:

my96 wrx
Z4 ecu
TD05 16g turbo
cat back straight through

fitted a version 7 TMIC going from the small slanty, i have increased lag boost is now coming in at 3600 rpm, i have been told it could be the hard plastic pipe and too change it foe the ali one with a silocone elbow for connection to the turbo,

can this annoying problem be mapped out?

will fitting a de-cat help or make it worst?

Thanks A very frustrated scooby owner

p.s i don't really want to have to re-fit the tiny tmic

something wrong there mate unless youve routed the pipework all the way round the engine just for the hell of it, thats worse than a fmic

does it hold boost properly when it does come in??? leak somewhere

i would have thought a decat would help spool but i think your problem lies elsewhere

you wouldnt necessary hear the leak it only has to be the tinyest leak and it will either give you loads of boost or not enough lol.

but the ally pipe def will help things rather then the Plastic one, the STI IC should come standard with a ally "Y" Pipe

10psi is only about 0.7 to 0.8 bar and you may not notice a leak, ive had the same trouble b4, i put a smear of silicone on the mating surfaces

Oh and dont forget the dv, did you get that with tthe cooler

yeah

also another thing to check is that the DV hose is not Kinked up as you could loose some boost pressure via that, (as mine did)

After changing your TMIC you need a remap to be safe anyway.
Your mapper can alter WG duty cycle to get the turbo to spool efficiently.
Check for air leaks, intercooler pipework or headers/uppipe.

i'd say there was a leak in there somewhere.

Should be coming on before that.
