Default Battery Relocation

Ive just purchased myself a dry cell battery today, so I will be removing the standard wet battery from the bonnet, and relocating the dry cell battery into the boot (passenger side) along with the washer bottle.

Anyway, I will end up writing a tutorial for this, but i was wondering if anyone knew what size the standard battery wires are (4 gauge?)

What would people recommend for running to the back, keep it all the same wire width?

Also when it comes to joining the standard battery wires to the new wire, should i just put it through a fused distribution block?

Something like this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/KnuKonceptz-4-...item5ad4a65e3d

And then just put the ground lead to the car chasis/body/seat bolt

personnally with with the longer wires i would choose something wider with to reduce the resistance as its travelling further bud and if your going through the hassle of it you may aswell trace the new stuff in as far along as you can do it properly.

Cheers for the link darms, had read that last night, but wasn't sure about the 4 gauge, but after looking at the wire i think it should be alright.

Think ill go round and replace the wire that goes to the fusebox and to the alternator too while I'm at it

If you can... then I'd try and get 1-gauge..... or even 0. Since you're going to all the trouble of rewiring the car you may as well put in decent cable.

Any decent car hifi shop should be able to get you some. Might be worth fitting a grounding kit too. I tend to use caraudiosecurity.com as they're local.....

To be fair, its only for a track car, and its stripped so not much running on the electrical stuff apart from the engine now, so i think 0awg is a bit too much, but might get something bigger then 4awg

I did mine for weight distribution and the fact that i had no more space under the bonnet after putting in the catch can and things for the battery in the bonnet... so put a dry cell in the boot along with the washer bottle.
