Default Engine oil top up

Hi, can anyone suggest a good oil for topping up, have always used Morris oil 5w/30 smi synthetic in the past, is there an equal of the shelf equivalent, many thanks .

5w30 semi synthetic?! exactly what car do you have? on a new age any 5w30 semi synthetic isnt recommended (though fully synth is) and its really not good on a classic, they dont even recommend it as its far too thin.
Revert back to a better oil, 10w40 is standard on these cars

Cheers Tony, just as well i have only used it for a few top ups over the last few years since i purchased the scoob, despite regular servicing. Maybe they saved my bacon !!! will go with 10w40 from now on and maybe use whats left to water the neighbours flowers lol...
for a bit of advice, any recommendations?

Shell is the recommended but you dont have to go with that, millers is a favourite on here, just dont go with castrol magnatec, not a good reputation with subaru engines
