I had this happen to me a few months back. I took the hose off roadside (luckily had a few tools with me) dried he hose off best I could, and tightly wrapped electrical tape around it. Refitted hose, topped coolant up, but left the cap off the header tank (to stop it building pressure). I drove home very gently like this keeping eye on temp gauge.

Go to B&Q and buy some silicone tape, just the job for this and will probably last a while as well until you get another hose, its great stuff !!

Ive just had the same problem with my 98 Turbo 2000 Wagon!

Phoned the AA and he came out and put some of that hose repair tape on it, but as soon as he put the cap back on, it pissed out again!

So i ended up getting a piece of copper pipe off my mate and cut out the punctured piece and put the copper sleeve in it, and it held pretty well untill i got home.

Im now after a some blue silicone hoses for the radiator if anybody either has any or knows where i can get some from?

My bloody top hose developed a pin hole coming off a slip rd last night. The exhaust was v hot and created alot of steam, I assumed the worst and it had me worried. £28 for a new hose, Seems common on these cars.
