At what mileage / year is recommended to change the diff and gearbox oil??

Been told every 2 years, not sure how accurate this is though. Thats for a JDM STi with a 6 speed.

Well I only do 4000 miles a year in my Scooby so does that mean I dont have to change it for another 10 years
