not sure if this is common sense or perhaps people don't care but it's a bad idea mixing materials in a cooling loop - the coolant allows one of the materials to corrode preferentially over the other. that is, the engine block or the rad will corrode quickly. different coolant types may help but this is a natural process and there's no practical way to stop it in this application. also if you allow the rad to come into contact with steel bolts you should separate them or paint them first to reduce the contact between the steel and aluminium - perhaps use thin rubber washers etc. if you don't you may see very localised corrosion around the contact areas after a while.
