To answer some of your questions from my POV:

1) Always worth while changing your fuel filter if you have one...on my '05 WRX 2.0 it is in th engine bay (yours may well be in the tank and may not need changing)
2) I bought 6 Litres to do mine and most of it was used
3) Stick with the NGK's

The dealer will change what is necessary on your car, they will use NGK as those are the standard plugs, if the fuel filter needs changing or you wish to have it changed, just ask the dealer.

OEM fuel filter and NGK plugs ARE the best.

Castrol Syntrax 75W-90 trans/diff oil is recommended.

Do you not need slightly thicker diff oil on scoobs?

The garage i work in has manual transmission oil which is 75w90 and then seperate oil for diff's which is 80 i think...

Thats up to you, personally if the car is still in warranty then I would go to the dealer, if you have never serviced a scoob you may be in for a shock with the spark plugs and diff oils but choose your own oil or get the dealer to replace with the standard stuff, doesnt make much difference except the price.
