You need to post up pics with the various pipes labelled. That way it'll be easier to say "that pipe should go to there...", etc......

Hmmm, sounds like overboosting, not sure you would get that if the pipes were in the wrong place tbh.
Does the car have any modifications?
Is there a boost gauge fitted and if so what does it read?

My bro's waiting for del of a nearly new Land Rover. It's been held up for weeks because of a problem with rough running. After much scratching of heads by main dealers, etc., it was eventually found to have a vac pipe associated with the turbo fitted incorrectly.

Rick, who exactly has told you they're not going "to the right places"? As has already been said, the easiest thing you could do right now to help us to help you would be to photograph the turbo compressor/wastegate actuator area and the boost control/sensor pack on the offside front suspension turret and post up the pics. We'll be able to tell you straight away what's right or not.

hi i would like to point out that i had this engine fitted by a subaru specialist as you know you have the receipt for this and so i cant see them being wrong i did not have this problem when i owned it mate so think you might be barking up the wrong tree. the other car you looked at could be a 98 or older in which case the engine changed slightly in 99 so could be piped up differently, just a thought mate!
