Default White Smoke :(

Someone please Help.

I own a 2000 (w) P1, the car has been standing since last night - No Problems (Slipping Clutch)

I have just this second started the car and was amazed to see a big cloud of White Smoke come from the exhaust...a little worried now, after a few seconds the smoke clears. When driving the car there is no sign of any white smoke at all.

Just had something to eat and started the car again, and again I see White Smoke

Can anyone help me.

Thank you

White smoke would indicate coolant/water.

Hows the coolant level ?

Head Gasket
Turbo Oil Seals
Condensation in Exhaust

Sounds like condensation in the exhaust. Mine does it every now and then - especialy after being sat about for a while.

The car has been standing again from last night no use at all. Just got in from playing golf and thought I would start it and see what happens.

There was very little smoke if nothing at all.

Hmmm very puzzeled

My guess would be Turbo oil seals. I get whie smoke out of my exhaust for about 3 or 4 seconds when I start it every morning and I've been told it's likely to be my oil seals on the turbo either worn or wearing. Cars going in in a few weeks to have it all checked out and sorted.

Thanks for your help, would have thought if it was the turbo and oil it would have been a little darker in colour, need to take the car into Thwaites for Mark to do the fly wheel and clutch will ask him to have a look for me I guess.

Thanks again for all your help

Usually coms out in a think fluffy white cloud because the oil has been sat in downpipe and the exhaust overnight - that's certainly what I get anyway.

White Smoke = Water
Blue Smoke = Oil
