Track Gearbox Oil

Track Gearbox Oil
Right I've done a search, and looked through hundreds of posts, but couldn't really find a definite answer.
On my last track day, after a few hard laps, I started to notice the down change from 5th to 4th got a bit harder and notchy... One of the other scooby lads told me that it was probably the gear box oil getting hot and that its probably old, and suggested I changed oil.
Right so after my search, people are recommending castrol syntrax, or Motul... now my car is just a dedicated track day car, so I want something that will be good for that, not just for every day road use... do i put castrol in?

Any of the top GL5 spec synthetic 75w-90's will be ideal. Motul Gear300, Silkolene Syn5, Redline 75w-90, Millers CRX 75w-90nt, Amsoil Severe Gear 75w-90 all more than up to the job of dedicated track use http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-673-75w-90.aspx
