Default Where to fit air temp sensor ecu mappers advice?

Autronic ecu 2002 sti,i now have the air temp sensor fitted into the inlet manifold which i drilled and tapped, but its allways worrying me that it may be suffering with direct heatsoak to the sensor (metal to metal) ,what do people think to this been there ?,i was gonna move it to the i/c pipe just before the throttle body but not sure if i will be completely wasting my time tbh,so what do any mappers ecu experts think ?.

This is where it is now and does get hot to the touch.

Most do fit in the cooler pipe just before the T/B,i just thought at the time that the sensor must get a more accurate reading directly in the inlet mani bang behind the T/B where the air enters the mani ???,now its worryin me the actual sensor (fiiting) is getting that hot it may give false readings as its not the inside probe thats at that temp but heat soak making the sensor probe hot ?????????,even seen some people tap and thread the cold side of the fmic, but surely thats also a false/well different temp to when it actually gets up and into the inlet mani?,i may be wasting my time moving it but just wondered what the experts thought on this.

i would think that the air temp would be as far away from any heat at all, like in the induction pipe, if i fitted 1 thats where it would be so i got true air temp before any heat from the engine, if i wanted inlet manifold temp then where you have fitted it would be ideal,

a matter of personal taste i guess
