Next to it should be a little red button... press it and your Scoob should sprout wings and fly...

Just be careful of the volcanic ash - the MY00 MAF sensors don't like it!

sorry for a daft question but ive seen this a few times now...whats an 'MY00' or MY99 etc?
I thought it refered to the year of the car but having seen it a few times thats doesnt seem to make sense.

The dashboard addition was called a Gauge Pack and consisted of a compass, outside temperature and outside air pressure indicators.
It fits in place of the top dashboard compartment and according to an old accessory brochure cost the sum of £229 plus £60 for the instrument holder.
It was an option on MY98 and MY99 cars although I've never seen an Impreza with one fitted.

It does mean year of car - specifically the manufacturer's designated year-on-year 12-month Model Year run. It can be anything, depending on when they first released a model and/or when they revise a model, etc.

In the case of the Classic Impreza, the MY's tended to happen from Sep, to Aug of the following year. Therefore, for example, a car produced from Sep 96 to Aug 97 would be referred to as a MY1997 or MY97 or 1997MY or 97MY. It's always the latter of the 2 calender years that is written when employing the "MY..." nomenclature...
