As Bigsinky asks, what, if anything, has already been done to the car?

As per other threads here recently, if you're still on the standard WRX turbo and have no immediate plans to change it, the FMIC is a pointless, probably counterproductive mod, ditto the induction kit. If your plans over the winter involve a turbo sufficient to put it over the 330 or so mark you'd then possibly be looking at an IC upgrade, but that's the time to do it, and the choice of intercooler depends on the turbo so again it's something that needs to be done then rather than as two separate, unconnected decisions.

If you could give us more of an idea what your winter plans are, it'd be easier to comment usefully.

I stuck the biggest FMIC on the market onto mine (STI), and it was easy enough to live with. After a couple of years I got greedy and added a 400 bhp turbo.

VF 35 and an STI TMIC with scoop & undertray is really enough to see you most of the way IMHO.

P.S. After all that my std. clutch cried enough....

cheers guys,im running standard tdo4 at the mo but may consider bigger over winter.it all depends on what feedback i get as the car still has to be a daily driver.
as for the fmic it may not go on then.is the sti tmic better than front mount?i was just thinking of the colder air it would be getting.im happy with the airbox and green filter but wouldve had to change it coz of the fm.(and i like the look)
to be honest im just juggling ideas at the moment.i am after a little bit more now as im finding that im too used to the power thats there,if you see what i mean lol.
i did like the idea of the filter tucked away in the wing but again it depends on feedback.if the airbox is good enough then so be it.i like to mod but wont just for the sake of it.
ive nearly got the braking and handling how i want it so engine is the next step.
at the mo im running downpipe cat back exhaust,green panel,v power(££££) always,large core rad.bugeye 2001 uk.wrx.
