Can't decide
Right i have sitting on my shelf an apexi power fc and commander, car is MY96 wrx aith just a cat back and a v7 tmic, turbo is td05 and ecu is Z4, i have an avc-r and it's set up sooo sweet, the car runs ace and i'm now thinking do i really need the apexi ecu as i don't plan to do any more mods to the car apart from uprate the fuel pump, it's quick enough for me as it;s a daily driver, if i spend the £300 to get it fitted and mapped all i'm going to gain is 10-20bhp where as i could sell it get my £400 notes back and buy a nice new phone lol................
i know it's my decision at the end of the day but if it was you what would you do?

I'd first get your AFR's checked on a RR to make sure everything's tickety boo. If so and seeing as you're not craving more performance - and so long as you're SURE you'd defo NOT want to mod futher in the future!!! - then, yes, I'd sell the PFC+Commander.
As you say, it wouldn't really be 'necessary'. But you'd prob benefit from a 'nicer' drive on a PFC bespoke map though - although this is a moot point. The Z4 can retard timing after all, so as long as your AFR's are cushty, then all's rosy in the garden.
After all, £400+ for the PFC+Commander ain't to be sniffed at...
