Default Coloured front mount intercooler?

In the spirit of stealth I’d like a black or very dark front mount intercooler.

Can you get them anodised? What is possible? How long would they look good for? Would this affect their function? Anyone got any experience? Who can do it? How much? etc.

I put a very light coat of matt black paint on mine (didn’t seem to affect it according to my intake temperatures). It looked fantastic at first (See my garage) but after 12 months it is already starting to look very tatty indeed. I have a stone chip mesh fitted... I think the winter killed it!

repaint it. lol.

if you want to clean it all off and start again then get your self to B&Q and buy some nitro moors paint remover. paint the front of the intercooler with this. leave for a few mins and wash all the paint off. will look like new again. tidy up any little area and then paint again once dry.

dont forget you can turn your intercooler around and repaint the other side which will still probably look new.

oh and with the nitro moors. what ever you do. dont get it on your car or on your skin. it will either hurt your feelings or physically hurt you !

Thanks for the suggestion.... actually I was planning on buying a brand new one and doing what ever to it straight from the box before fitting. This one will be up fro grabs soon.

I don't think painting it again is the answer. I want to do it and leave it!

yeah you can. strip it back to normal or turn it around. take to a body shop and say spray this gloss black. will come back looking awersome. no need for a new one mate unless you got the money to waste lol

Thanks but Nah - I'm not going to paint it again. It looks great for a few weeks and then the paint falls off. I want to hear about anything except paint.
